 Cut from 2.5mm corten weathering steel. Rough edges from cutting are chipped away before being processed in a deburring machine giving the product its nice even finish ready for weathering

COR -TEN   (WEATHERING STEEL)

Developed in the 1900s for the railways for its inherent toughness, it was designed to eliminate the need for painting by forming a stable rust like appearance, a unique look. Weathering means that due to the chemical compositions this steel exhibits increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to other steels. This is because the steel forms an even protective rust layer on its surface under the influence of the weather.

Corten is becoming popularly used in architecture and garden art for aesthetic reasons

For best results lie flat, wash well with soapy water and rinse off well before hanging.

If attaching to a wall use packers to set out from the wall to eliminate staining.  For quick results hose often

Corten can be sealed if desired but not necessary.

Corten can be scrubbed with a scotch bright to clean up, remove excess dust and even out the colour
